Supporting Plastic Oceans Charity
Plastic Oceans is a global network of independent not-for-profits and charitable organisations, united in their aims to change the world’s attitude towards plastic within a generation. There are currently four Plastic Oceans Foundation entities: United States, Canada, Hong Kong and United Kingdom serving both the ocean and the public.
It's not breaking news to hear that our planet is just not coping with the amount of waste we are producing. One of the biggest contributions to this excess waste is all the plastics we use. Plastics are not biodegradable and are damaging our environment. Little changes make a BIG difference. One of these changes is something you have probably never given a second thought to...your toothbrush. We all use them, they're an essential part of our lifestyle, so there's no hiding from them.
Experts recommend a new toothbrush every 3 months. That's 4 brushes per person per year. The UK population is currently around 65 million, so that's 260 million toothbrushes disposed off each year just in the UK! Multiply that across the world and the results are mind-blowing. It's in the billions!
Where do these all end up? Well, there's only two possibilities: either floating in the oceans damaging ecosystems or filling up our landfills. But we can help stop this with one very small change. There is an alternative to plastic...
